I am unapologetic about my love of sports. Certainly my love of soccer. Watching both my daughters play over the course of these years, falling in love with the beauty of the perfect pass and the last-minute header, the fearlessness of a keeper who waits and watches all game for the moment theyll most be needed, the heart and strength of the diligence and endless hours of practice and perfection that i know goes into those few priceless moments on the field...I am so proud to be watching todays game with the whole world, cheering on the relentless drive of these 23 men who have sacrificed so much so that a collective of people who might likely never have another thing in common can share in a brilliant 90+ minutes of community and shared hope -- I hope we win. I believe we can. But more than anything, im grateful i get to shed a few tears watching this video in anticipation of the tears that will likely come early this afternoon, when this battle is finally over and regardless of what happens, I get to have been an observer of some true, bona-fide warriors of the pitch
