I am up late for a couple of reasons. First still ticked about the Cards game! Second is my daughter came home late from work and I remembered she asked for my help on an extra credit assignment for her college. The assignment was to find the three native pine trees from Missouri and then get small branches from each. Sounded easy enough so we goggled it and could only find one pine tree listed as native to Mo on the first three pages but I believed the Professor was probably right about three. We talked about it and decided to go pine tree by pine tree specifically to see if we could find more information about Mos native trees. Found two others that way on a couple of sites but I still didnt want to accept it at face value. So I thought about it a while on how to verify if those were the three trees. Decided the Professor would not expect the students to drive a long ways to get the branches of each so I checked a few more sites on which county each of the trees grew in. Low and behold, all three are within a short driving distance of her campus. Where am I going with this? I wish people would treat politics the same way. Read more than just one site and decide it is the truth. Read multiple sites and then do a little thinking about the issue then do some cross checking and some more critical thinking. It seems like too many people today tend to believe either their favorite site or news feed without really even thinking about how believable it is as long as it fits their opinion or beliefs. It would great if we could get critical thinking back into politics. And I am talking about both sides.
