I am very disappointed with the leadership of this union. We have become doormats. Our union is laughable to politicians. They are taking full advantage of this weakness. Either stand up and fight or disband. My money can help my own family instead of helping to endorse candidates who helped put us where we are. I cannot believe what is being done to combat reform..suggest better teacher training! What about us already in the profession? Test scores are being brought up already as a Concern to administration. So, how long before teachers start losing their jobs over poor test scores? What is being done to keep class sizes small and place children in appropriate school settings?Least restrictive environment is code word for jam as many kids in a classroom instead of where they really belong. We have let politicians, corporations, billionaires and celebrities shape our current laws, policies and reform. I call on our leadership to do what is right and fight like they are in Chicago. There is still hope but not for much longer. Save our profession and our childrens future! Stop making deals and backing down!!!
