I am very dissapointed in certain community members by the negative comments that the HT has posted on their online blog in regards to the Habitat homes that are being built. I am rather surprised by the snooty attitude of some of our community members. This attitude has intensified in the recent past over the homes being built on the b-line trail. The negative comments of, we were not given enough information is an excuse because I am sure you had the same amount of information as the next person had in regards to building, moving or expanding anything else in this community. Or the house is not big enough for 6 people. Look around you, look in the older neighborhoods within the city where the average home size is about 1,000 square feet. You do not need a McMansion to raise a family, you need adequate housing which this community does not have enough of!! Get over the not in my backyard mentality. I currently would trade at least two homes in my neighborhood for a Habitat home. At least the home owners are taught how to take care of their homes! Anyone who is opposed to Habitat should participate in a build so you can share your concerns as you work alongside the future homeowners. Thank you Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County, IN for all you have done for those that need housing.......
