I am very happy to announce that the beach clean up is complete on the beach. All the surface garbage anyway. It remains to be seen when the first good high tide and high surf just how much of the garbage buried beneath all the seaweed and rocks will be swept back out to sea. Our daily promise is to take daily walks and always bring a garbage bag with us to remain viligant on keeping any trash from ever going back out from this beach. Pictures are all of this mornings activities. Eric and I hit the beach shortly after 9:00am and about an hour later one of our neighbours and his son were out for a ride on their 4x4. The little guy asked me what we were doing and that question was followed by more questions like, But why? And it followed by more but whys with every answer I gave him. He then said, Would you like us to help you? I smiled and said, We would like that very much. They were both a huge help! We also estimated the pounds of garbage we took off the beach. A modest estimate was 800 lbs plus fishing ropes...there had to be at least another 150-200 lbs with that alone. Eric and I did about 500+ just with him and I. After returning home at lunch time, after all the work this morning, we were spent. Yet feeling ridiculously happy at the accomplishment. We got cleaned up, had lunch then fell into bed for a much needed nap. I was gone five minutes later until 4:45PM. Eric was still sleep when I woke up. I was making myself a cup of tea when I could hear an Eagle in the back yard. I grabbed my camera and stepped out onto the deck and looked up and he was sitting right in this tree, right in my yard. I said, Hello. , he looked down at me unfazed by my presence. I got off about 50 shots of him and these three were my favourites. I had the feeling maybe he was saying, Thank you. Whether he was or not, I said, Your welcome. ( a blog on the whole story will be done over the next day or so, along with pictures that captured the whole experience.)
