I am very overjoyed, proud, and simultaneously humbled to let those of you who were not at Otakuthon 2014s Masqarade Award Ceremony know that Miss Messy Mia and I (as team Detailed Mess) won Canada’s World Cosplay Summits preliminaries and will be representing Canada in 2015. I also had the wonderful opportunity to judge the regular Otakuthon Masquerade Saturday night (before I found out the WCS results) and all I could think the entire time was HOW AMAZING Cosplay is in Canada, and how it would be the GREATEST honour to get to represent this country’s amazing talent. We will work hard to do you all proud on the world stage. I also want to congratulate ALL the other contestants- it took MAD GUTS to prepare costumes and get on the stage for WCS. All of you looked amazing and I’m honoured to have performed on the same stage as you all! A special hats off to my friends Calamity and MeltingMirror Cosplay (as team Polar Diamonds) who are the runners up! You two Cosplayers inspire me with your work, and your participation in the Cosplay community. You both deserve so much praise for what you do and I would love to conspire with you both to make amazing future cosplays together. (Pictures should be released soon-ish, and I’ll be sure to share them when they’re available!)
