I am very pleased to introduce Dr. Rafał Gruszczyński who is going to run the seminar Logic as a tool in our Program Invitation to Philosophy and Sociology. (erasmushum.umk.pl/sample-program-of-studies/). The introductory lecture is going to be held on the 24th of October 2014, 14.15 (Collegium Minus, room 305). Dr Rafał Gruszczyński obtained his Ph.D in philosophy (logic) in 2007 at the Nicolaus Copernicus University. He works as an assistant professor at the Department of Logic of Faculty of Humanities of NCU. In his scientific work he focuses on logic with special emphasis on mereology and point-free theories of space. He published in renowned journals such as Fundamenta Informaticae and Bulletin of Symbolic Logic and lectured, among others, at universities in Porto (Portugal), Madrid (Spain) and Salerno (Italy). Rafał Gruszczyński is the assistant editor of an international quarterly Logic and Logical Philosophy published by Nicolaus Copernicus University. Since December 2010 he is a supervisor of Logical Society, an organization at NCU whose mission is to deepen students knowledge of advanced topics in logic. Rafal Gruszczynski lives in Torun with his wife Agnieszka and almost-three-years old dog Robin. His extra-scientific interests include: climbing, literature, film, music and comic books.
