I am very proud to have been asked to serve as a judge for this contest. The event is open to the public, so if you love poetry, come on down: Washington State Arts Commission Cordially Invites You To Southwest Washington Regional Finals POETRY OUT LOUD The National Poetry Recitation Contest Tuesday, February 4th, 2014 Educational Services District 112 2500 NE 65th Avenue, Vancouver, WA 98661 5:00pm - 7:00pm; Competition begins at 5:00pm Featuring the school-level winners from 12 schools in the Southwest Washington Region Battle Ground High School, Camas High School, Cedar Tree Classical Christian School, Hayes Freedom High School, Heritage High School, Hockinson High School, La Center High School, Prairie High School, Ridgefield High School, Stevenson High School, Trout Lake School, Vancouver School of Arts and Academics The top two finalists from this competition will compete in the Washington State Finals on March 8, 2014 for a cash prize of $200 and an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C., (with a chaperone) to compete in the National Finals.
