I am very saddened that Dun Renard deleted her post and left the group. There has to be room for principled disagreement. Marushka and LInda, I disagree with both of you. I believe the MInistry of Health making a pronoucment of deaths is suffiiciently respectable that over a million people died in the last year as stated in the The Guardian article. I believe you are both making a mistake in trying to impose standards of evidence and credibility that cannot be met under a fascist government and in the serious medical crisis going on in Japan. To demand these kinds of standards and to claim that they are being done is falacious, in my opinon, in itself. I posted an article regarding Japans fraudent claims of 100 year olds and longetivity exposed by in the New York times I believe in 2010 when they supposedly had good statistical evidence. It is my belief that all scientific research conducted in bourgeois, ruling class univerisites by bourgeois establishment scholars is contaminated. Having worked in such a research institution at UCSF right in the lab of a Ph.D., MD. next to Harold Varmus lab who was the head of the NIH at one time I can personally testify to the nonsensical studies that are funded in the best universities in America. You are folllowing into a rightwing trap by trying to play the game by the rightwing side IMO. This is a political issue. We cannot fight for the people of Japan by citing the supposedly scientific studies of miilitary-linked scientists and rightwing, pronuclear scientists in this country. This a has to be a political battle and we have to bust through the myths of pure and credible scientists in such a corrupt society as the one we live in.
