I am very saddened to hear that another shooting has happened at Fort Hood today. In the news report, it was stated that it was a soldier that had PTSD. Im sure that some people will start to think that all people that have military related PTSD are potential psycho killers, but thats a horrible misconception. What we SHOULD take away from this is that we MUST continue to learn more about PTSD (which has existed for years and years, military related or not) and make sure that those who experience signs shouldnt feel ashamed and should have readily available services to defeat the shadows that follow them on a daily basis. On another note, PTSD is not a joke and I have NO sympathy for those who abuse the system to get benefits that others who have it truly need, and hope that a better job can be done to weed out the liars who clearly have no idea about this mind monster. Be praying for the families of those 3 that died today, as well as the many injured and the the soldier and his family who have a tough road ahead because of one very poor decision.
