I am very thankful for the opportunities I have been given in life. I have been asked by many new instructors in the various fields how to get work/contracts. It really starts before your ever become an instructor in knowing your craft and knowing it well. That is where your reputation is founded. Become a practologist because there are a lot of teachers that have never lived the job. Anyone can teach a book but the experiences of a craftsman can only be obtained one way. Hard work put in today with perseverance and determination will result in rewards tomorrow. I was certified as a instructor early on in my career in several areas but that instructor rating did not mean I never had to take classes or learn again. If your personal education becomes stagnant you have failed yourself, your coworkers and your customers. Make each day a learning opportunity. A.personal favorite teaching style of mine is co-teachings. This provides great results on many levels. The students get more knowledge/experiences from the cadre and as a instructor I will learn from from my co-teachers (and sometimes the students) as well, because experiences are a individual based. And for the young instructor, co-teaching with a more expereinced instructor it may will provide you with value insight into the market you are looking to get into. Just a few thought running in my head today. Ok time to train on something....
