I am watching The Miracle of Israel that I DVRed today, narrated by Leonard Nimoy. Doing this partially because in my narrative one of the characters is closely associated with the founding of Israel, Lionel Walter Rothschild. It is to Baron Rothschild that the Balfour Declaration is addressed, in other words, the Balfour Declaration of 1917 is actually a personal letter to Rothschild from UK Foreign Secretary Arthur James Balfour. Walter Rothschild (he does not become Lord Rothschild until his father dies in 1915) was fanatical about Galápagos giant tortoises and hired my guy Rollo Beck to collect birds and reptiles in the islands a few years before Beck goes as Chief of Expedition for the California Academy of Sciences in 1905-06. Perhaps those who know could tell me more about The Miracle of Israel video, if theyve seen it (anything about its history or agenda). The irony of watching this video on Easter-eve is not lost on me. Any help? Mark A. Wilson, Roy Plotnick. Thanks in advance.
