I am watching a 48 Hours. It is about the Kennedy assassination 50 years ago. I remember being in the basement of Central Elementary in Cambridge City. It was film day. The film was suddenly stopped, the lights came on and we went back to our classroom. I was in Eunice Ballengers first grade class. At the front of the class, there was a semi-circle of chairs that Miss Ballenger seated the different reading classes. When we walked in the room, older brothers and sisters were sitting in the chairs waiting to take their siblings home. I remember Julie Hersberger was waiting for Emily and she was sobbing. That is when I knew something was terribly wrong. I was only six years old but I will never forget the sadness.
