I am wondering why the Bangladeshi authorities have not yet arrested the terrorists belonging to the jihadist organization, Somo Odhikar Andolon, who attacked a convoy of the International CHT Commission on July 5, 2014 at Rangamati! We have also unconfirmed reports which suggest that the Bangladesh army intelligence agency DGFI is giving shelter and protection to Al-Amin Emran, the prime accused in the attack, in Dhaka Cantonment. This jihadist organization often accuses the Commission and other international human rights bodies of conspiring against Bangladesh for making an independent Christian State with CHT. Clearly, it does so to malign, discredit and undermine the efforts of these international human rights bodies for promotion and protection of human rights in CHT on one hand, and to justify its cold jihad against the minority Buddhists, Hindus and Christians of the region on the other. We must gear up our efforts to ensure punishment of the criminals as per law.
