I am writing this as a resident of Hastings to urge all those who enjoy our Country Park, residents and visitors alike, to share their views about the most recent planning application at Rocklands. Although MPs cannot interfere in matters of planning, this building offends me every time I walk on the East Hill. As a resident, and someone who loves the hills, I find this building an eyesore. As it currently stands it has no planning permission. It is my personal view that it should never have been given planning permission and the fact that it did receive planning permission reflects badly on the council. I support the Save Ecclesbourne Glen campaign group, indeed I am a member, and we must ensure that all voices are heard. The deadline for objections is this coming Friday, 23 January. There are currently 178 objections so far but I feel certain that may more would participate if they were aware. The last application received some 300 and it would act as a strong message to the council if more residents registered their views this time.
