I am writing this for all those who were offended and complained at my posting links to debates, lectures and books critiquing specific Roman Catholic Doctrines. Many of these individuals claimed that I shouldnt be trying to divide the body of Christ since we are all Christians and need to be united with each other. The fact of the matter is that we are not all brothers and sisters, since we do not all believe in the same Gospel, or have the same view of the Holy Bible. Therefore, a false unity which compromises the essential truth of the Gospel is no unity at all, but an abomination to the Lord Jesus. Here are some verses for all of us to meditate on since we must be united on the foundation of revealed truth, not at the expense or sacrifice of it. And the fact is, that Roman Catholicism and core essential Protestant doctrines such as Sola Fide and Sola Scriptura are at odds with one another, and the twain shall never meet. With that said, note all of the warnings against joining with false brothers masquerading as Christians who do not hold to the same Gospel: “For I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole purpose of God. Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood. I know that after my departure SAVAGE WOLVES WILL COME IN AMONG YOU, NOT SPARING THE FLOCK; AND FROM AMONG YOUR OWN SELVES MEN WILL ARISE, SPEAKING PERVERSE THINGS, TO DRAW AWAY THE DISCIPLES AFTER THEM. Therefore be on the alert, remembering that night and day for a period of three years I did not cease to admonish each one with tears. And now I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.” Acts 20:27-32 “Now I urge you, brethren, keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and hindrances CONTRARY TO THE TEACHING YOU LEARNED, and turn away from them. For such men are slaves, not of our Lord Christ but of their own appetites; AND BY THEIR SMOOTH AND FLATTERING SPEECH THEY DECEIVE THE HEARTS OF THE UNSUSPECTING.” Romans 16:17-18 “For I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy; for I betrothed you to one husband, so that to Christ I might present you as a pure virgin. But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ. For if one comes and preaches ANOTHER JESUS WHOM WE HAVE NOT PREACHED, OR YOU RECEIVE A DIFFERENT SPIRIT WHICH YOU HAVE NOT RECEIVED, OR A DIFFERENT GOSPEL WHICH YOU HAVE NOT ACCEPTED, YOU BEAR THIS BEAUTIFULLY… For such men ARE FALSE APOSTLES, DECEITFUL WORKERS, DISGUISING THEMSELVES AS APOSTLES OF CHRIST. No wonder, FOR EVEN SATAN DISGUISES HIMSELF AS AN ANGEL OF LIGHT. Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their deeds.” 2 Corinthians 11:2-4, 13-15 “I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel; which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, HE IS TO BE ACCURSED! As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, HE IS TO BE ACCURSED! For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? OR AM I STRIVING TO PLEASE MEN? IF I WERE TRYING TO PLEASE MEN, I WOULD NOT BE A BOND-SERVANT OF CHRIST.” Galatians 1:6-10 “For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the antichrist. Watch yourselves, that you do not lose what we have accomplished, but that you may receive a full reward. Anyone who goes too far and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God; the one who abides in the teaching, he has both the Father and the Son. IF ANYONE COMES TO YOU AND DOES NOT BRING THIS TEACHING, DO NOT RECEIVE HIM INTO YOUR HOUSE, DO NOT GIVE HIM A GREETING; for the one who gives him a greeting participates in his evil deeds.” 2 John 1:7-11 What these passages show is that it isn’t enough to say you are a Christian or that Jesus is Lord. If it were then we should be joining hands with Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses and other heretical groups and schismatics. Therefore, a false unity which compromises the essential truths of the faith such as the Gospel is no unity at all, but a satanic deception aimed at keeping people away from the only hope of salvation there is.
