I, and many of you obviously agree that choke chains, prong collars and shock collars are no way to bring about new and desirable behavior in a dog. However, because of misinformation and long-standing traditions, most "professionals" do not prohibit them during training. Therefore, the public is still under the impression that these should be the default tools when teaching a dog. The required tools should be time, love, patience, empathy, consistency, exercise... When (if ever) do you think that the majority of trainers and people will reject this approach when it comes to basic obedience training?
