I apologize for updating a little late. Sometimes updating is emotionally draining on me. Eastyn had chemo on monday. He had a lumbar puncture and two other chemos given to him. One is very strong and changes his tears and urine color. We have to clean the toilet well after he uses it each time. Friday we go back for a very strong dose of chemo. Its so strong that he can only have this kind a few amounts in an entire lifetime. Its two hours and then an hour of monitoring to make sure theres no reaction. If he has a reaction we have to be admitted and stay the night. Ive been advised to pack a bag since reactions are very common for this type and its a good possibility of an overnight stay. We kept his vincristine at 50% because the Doctors dont want it to affect his legs so badly but we know it will cause a problem but we dont know to what degree. In a couple weeks they will be sending him home with his port accessed and I will be administering chemo myself into his port with a needle. Right now E is on steroids 7 days on and 7 days off for the next 8 weeks. He will start to bloat again, be moody, tired, and eat constantly (hes already started to eat a lot.) Tonight he wet the couch when he fell asleep and was very upset about it as he takes a lot of pride in being potty trained so young. The Dr. warned me this may happen as he is so drugged and exhausted. Today I have noticed his eyes are sinking in more and he is pale with dark circles. It did not slow him down though. He still loaded up his john deere gator with hay and fed his horse. No stopping that kid!! He is aware he will be bald again soon and hes okay with that. Thank you for the continued prayers as we need them. This is a rough phase for E and he knows he will get sicker before he gets better.
