I apologize in advance: this is long, but it is worth the read if you care to take the time.......I am SO BLESSED to know first hand that there ARE some Village People still around. When I say Village People, Im referring to those people who will STILL go out of their way to help with the babies; to ensure their safety. I have the privilege of knowing (and loving) a few Village People firsthand and in the flesh and I am grateful beyond words. Just a couple of weeks ago, I didnt know how my baby was going to get home after school from Park Avenue Elementary on the south side of town to our house on the north side of town due to a change in her sitters situation. I asked to change my hours to 6 am -2:30 pm to be off in time to get to her by the time school was out. However; proper office coverage wouldnt allow that particular change; it would only allow me to change to 7 am - 3:30....still leaving my 9 year old daughter to fend for herself for 30 minutes or more until I could get to her.....I cried myself to sleep with worry about it a couple of nights. One morning, though, I prayed and decided to lay it at Jesus feet. Well, that VERY day, my prayers were answered and Jesus sent one of the aforementioned Village People to my rescue, Claudine Cheatem. I know it was God because she wasnt even an option.....Not even someone I fathomed to ask. Well, a long story just a little shorter, she told me her schedule would permit her to pick Kira up each day from school!!!!! And that she was blessed to be a blessing. She doesnt even understand the magnitude of relief she provided me! If youre a mother reading this, I know YOU understand. ANYWAY...From the BOTTOM of my heart and soul, I am SO GRATEFUL A FOR YOU VILLAGE PEOPLE. I love you, Ms. Claudine! Thank you so very much! ~Tracy
