I appeared on The Rachel Maddow Show last night to discuss the threat from ISIL and the U.S. response. I think the President should be wary of expanding airstrikes into Syria -- unlike Iraq, we do not have a regime to work with in Damascas, nor do we have a well-organized armed force to coordinate ground operations with like the Iraqi Kurds. If the President decides otherwise, he should come to Congress to make the case for broadening our military involvement and seek authorization.
