I appreciate both. They access different parts of my brain. I was a writer-by-hand with religious zeal until I went to college at 33. Adding the work of transcribing a paper written by hand (even if it was better) simply took too much time. I trained myself to compose on the keyboard and discovered an fascinating truth--when I use both hands (therefore both sides of the brain) my critical writing skills tend to come across more vividly. Handwriting is still the very best way for my to access the unconscious, though--and emotion.
