I appreciate our community for the outpouring of concern for those fighting the devestating local fires. The Siskiyou Golden Fairgrounds is listed as a disaster center for 51 weeks a year and only has one week a year to generate our operating budget for the year. In 2011, our fair had all state funding eliminated because of the budget crisis. I do not have the staffing to coordinate this fantastic idea about letting firefighters in free and having local donators pay for it, but if you all can get organized and have someone come to the grounds with the collected dollars and man a table at the front gate giving away the purchased tickets, I will assist in any way I can and will personally put in $50 of my money to help show The Spirit of Siskiyou Thanks, Cliff Munson.
