I asked my mad sister to come up with a funny poem on the eve of bootcamp....here it is... TWAS the night before Bootcamp, when all through The Shed, The barbells were ready for the madness ahead. The squat rack was loaded and laid out with care In the hope that some bootcampers soon would be there. The campers were nestled all snug in their beds, While visions of kettle bells danced in their heads. They dreamt of the weights and the bars they would heave, But soon theyd lift more than theyd ever believe! When from their kitchen some protein theyll take, For breakfast - who knows - they may even have steak For lifting and sprinting theres no better way, You must fuel up correctly to start off your day. In time, you will realise youre eating lots more Yet are stronger and leaner than ever before. The exercise burn, you will soon learn to love (Though may find, when lifting, you could do with a glove) On night one of Bootcamp youll meet all the team, Who are trained in and focused on making you lean. Strong, fast and fit - thats your shared aim, Theyll whistle, and shout, and call you by name! Now lunge! now, skip! now, flip and Squat! Hold it! Now, dig in! Now back to the top! To the floor with your squat! Now sprint to the wall! Now one more! One more! One more for all! Your arms - how they burn! Your legs will be jelly! Yet oddly youll grin, and feel somewhat merry. The sweat will be dripping all over your face, Youll find you dont care - you need to keep pace! Youll slam down big ropes, and lift chunks of metal As you shift more and more, youll no longer settle. Your goals will increase as your muscles get tighter, Youll buzz and youll grin as you feel so much brighter. When the end is in sight youll be ready to crumble, And with a rush of delight youll complete that last hurdle. Then the boys will exclaim, their eyes all a-glinting, sixty squat thrusts for all, then well see you for sprinting! See you tomorrow night!!!!
