I asked the school system in 2011 for its policy on credit card use, and I got a brush-off. I asked the school system in February how many times children were dropped off at the wrong spot by school bus drivers, and Im still waiting for an answer. The teachers union told the Washington Post it declined to endorse me because of my impertinence in following up on the school bus question. The school system only divulges information under extreme pressure. It evades requests for information from County Councilmembers. We will see whether any lessons are learned from the credit card episode.
