I assumed that the Kenya Jihadists were asking for the Shahada, - TopicsExpress

I assumed that the Kenya Jihadists were asking for the Shahada, the Muslim confession of faith. So did some of the hostages . But survivors were telling horror stories. Among them was Dorcas Mwangi of Athens, Ga. “It was crazy, because everyone was running,” Mwangi said. “People’s faces were full of shock and horror. There’s screaming.” Mwangi hid behind boxes, and said terrorists were shooting hostages who could not recite a Muslim prayer. Her brother texted her crucial information. “My brother sent me the Muslim Shahad prayer to memorize,” she said. Mwangi was never spotted and made it out. That’s probably lucky. Because the Muslim terrorists apparently came expecting that and were ready with a broader Koranic trivia quiz . Joshua Hakim, recounted the events of the horrific attack, saying how the Indian was killed. “Then an Indian man came forward and they said, ‘What is the name of Muhammad’s mother?’ When he couldn’t answer they just shot him,” said Hakim who owes his survival to his last name which sounds like that of a Muslim. The attackers were reportedly of Somali origin and speaking in Swahili. They called out Muslims to identify themselves and leave. When Joshua’s turn came, he managed to hide his first Christian name by putting his thumb on the ID, exposing just the Muslim sounding name and escaped the terrorists. The mother of the little monster was Aminah. It’s a big deal to Muslims because of the meaning of her name. That’s the sort of thing that Muslims and scholars of Islam know, but that most people don’t. There was also a Koran verse test . Other survivors told reporters that those who identified themselves as Muslims were ordered to recite a verse from the Koran, or to name the Prophet Mohammed’s mother. Those who could do so were allowed to go; those who failed the test were killed. This may have involved reciting the opening verse of the Koran. But that’s just a guess. The point is that everything that the average Muslim knows really isn’t worth memorizing unless you’re operating in areas where this could happen to you. If you’re touring Syria, by all means pack it in. Otherwise, learn your own religion. It may serve you better
