I attended a memorial service at Forest Lawn yesterday for the sake of my friend. I didnt know her relatives, but one was in the Navy. The service was held inside one of Forest Lawns great marble buildings, near the monuments for Elizabeth Taylor and Red Skelton. After the sailors showed up to fold the flag then give it to my dear friend, and then play Taps-- slowly, with feeliing-- we all lost it, choked on emotion. Taps is a heck of a song. Now, my latest earworm. . . .
