I attended a series of classes once for learning how to trade - TopicsExpress

I attended a series of classes once for learning how to trade stocks and options. It was 6 days, 12 hours per day. I had such a headache after each days class that I could feel parts of my brain melting. I had no idea that God was preparing me for something else... Yesterday, I sat for 4 hours with Chris Quackenbush, Lynne Sherrer, and many others, through the debate at the South Florida School Board Consortium. At hand was drafting their goals to send to the Florida Legislature. They narrowed their list to just a few items, including Suspend High Stakes Testing. Jeanne Dozier made a motion to draft a resolution to Demand the legislature immediately halt all state mandated high-stakes testing in Florida. There were many amendments proposed and they passed, watering it down somewhat. First, they removed the words immediately & Demand because they wouldnt pass 1 school boards vote. Then they adopted verbiage from Palm Beach Countys resolution that was adopted on Wednesday, asking for tests to be suspended until at least 7/1/17, giving us time to come up with a replacement PLAN. All 11 districts need to vote to ratify the resolution at their next board meetings. The members will be asking for parents to accompany them to Rally in Tally at some point; I let them know that they better get a LOT of buses. Jeanne Dozier plans to bring it up for vote at the 9/23 meeting, if the final draft can get distributed in time. It is expected to pass all boards as written. One member of another district told me they wouldnt be voting on it until their 10/28 meeting, so this is going to take some time. Once all 11 boards ratify the resolution, a committee will proceed to send the resolution to the legislature immediately. In the meantime, they will be reaching out to the Central Florida & Northern Florida Consortiums to get them to pass a similar resolution. Pam LaRiviere is on some Reading board or committee and will be bringing it up there, even if it hasnt been ratified yet. I also attended the breakfast meeting this morning, where they were planning to hammer out the final verbiage of the draft. Very little changes were made, and nothing really worth noting. So, I hope the resolution will be ready for ratification by the Lee County school board by this Tuesday. The breakfast meeting, which was scheduled to take 2 hours, let out early after 1 hour and 15 minutes. nbc-2/story/26578620/lee-school-board-members-meeting-with-districts-on-opt-out-issue#.VB3bfWMaKqQ
