I attended a wedding today. I was absolutely disgusted with the behaviour of the officiating priest. He was rude and arrogant towards the contracting parties. This was not the first time. He continually does this. As the priest his moral and ethical duty is to ensure that the experience of getting married is not only sacred but also memorable and enjoyable. You cannot claim to be a spiritual leader when you lack the skills of being a true human being. I gathered that nobody complains because of the respect they have for priests. It must be remembered that the priests are merely conduits between humanity and the celestial beings.They should not usurp the role of the God Almighty. My appeal to the individual concerned is to do an introspection and strive towards making the wedding day one of the most important and enjoyable day for the bride and groom. After all a religious marriage ceremony is more than a contract - it is a sacrament.
