I attended another impressive and colourful graduation ceremony for Best Pacific Institute of Education at the Vodafone Centre yesterday. They work with students and their families to fulfil their educational, vocational and business aspirations. They do this by providing quality educational programs that responsively and effectively meet their learning and career needs. This is a testament to the passion, vision and commitment of founder Anita Finnegan and her capable daughter Rachel Skudder (shown below). They also have an outstanding team of tutors, mentors and administrators who support, counsel, encourage and motivate the students to achieve. Best Pacific is the largest Private Training Establishment in the country and also the biggest provider of the youth guarantee program in New Zealand. I spoke to the graduands about the importance of skills and qualifications in order to gain well paying jobs. I also spoke about the opportunities available in the workplace and how serving our communities and the vulnerable was important. It was good to hear of the future jobs and higher education goals of the graduands.
