I attended the Atlanta Regional Centers presentation on Poverty and Transportation on Wednesday. The events panel was hosted by John Berry, Executive Director of Chamblees own Society of St. Vincent DePaul (). On the Panel was Keith Parker, Executive Director of MARTA, who said that much focus is on their concept of TOD (Transportation Oriented Development). I suspect the development of Chamblees MARTA station is not as far off as they once led us to believe! I learned about a new tool at the panel event. Please check out the Metro Atlanta Equity Atlas: atlantaequityatlas/how-to-use-the-maps/ I asked the panel to make metrics of success better for us all to understand and I suggested MARTA create a municipal outreach department so that MARTAs resources can be used when local governments are contemplating recommendations to plans submitted by developers.
