I attended the Brentmoor Neighborhood Association monthly meeting - TopicsExpress

I attended the Brentmoor Neighborhood Association monthly meeting last night. Carter Park NA is dormant so interested neighbors from there are now a part of the Brentmoor gathering. Like other neighborhoods in District 9, I may not live there but my bicycle and I have spent time exploring its streets. On one excursion I found a tucked away enclave that included a few homes with enough acreage for horses. They are just up the road from a small goat farm. Finding such surprises a mile from the first mall built in Fort Worth keeps riding interesting. The concerns of the neighbors centered on the lack of attention in general from the City of Fort Worth and the lack of street maintenance specifically. They certainly have a point from my experience. Besides taking me to interesting places, my cycling has given me insight into the range of street quality in Fort Worth. My bike seat forcefully communicates the relative disrepair of any street. I can assure you not all parts of the city receive equal attention; certainly not all parts of District 9 have been well cared for. There was a time when City policy was to make certain the worst conditions were the first addressed when reworking infrastructure. We need to move back in that direction.
