I attended the Lincoln Triangle Open House tonight. I think it was - TopicsExpress

I attended the Lincoln Triangle Open House tonight. I think it was helpful overall. Id been to previous meetings on the triangle and back then it seemed to be much more in the planning stages. I felt like I got some more details sorted out this time around and a better sense of whats still up in the air and why (primarily around the Vine and Lemay intersection). I also feel like I have a better sense of whats likely to get bumped if Lincoln gets funded. (Willow and Jefferson may lose out as well as the Community Market.) Willow is seeing a lot of development, so that might help fill out infrastructure there. Jefferson, not so much. But at least W. Vine isnt getting booted from being in the running (mostly because it never made it in in the first place. Ditto with N. Lemay by Tavelli, Laporte, and N. Shields.) AND I feel like I have a better sense of peoples complaints about BOB2. Apparently past tax initiatives like this have had a lot more public input... and a different kind of public input. We were given the opportunity to vote things up and down online this time around. But in the olden days neighborhoods would apparently get together, look at the items and talk them out amongst themselves. So instead of just aggregating wishes and desires, there was community dialogue that helped people sort out what the priorities should be for the whole community, rather than tabulating up personal wishes.
