I attended the Ribbon Cutting for the Erwin Solar Farm being constructed by Strata Solar, LLC from Chapel Hill, NC. The agenda looked like a right wing political event but other than the agenda, it was a nice event especially when Princess of our Congressional district shows up as the noted speaker and lead speaker. The man from Strata who introduced her talked all about the need for all the elected officials at the event to support their efforts in solar and sustainable energy and how we need to reduce the use of coal. Oh boy she was agreeing throughout the entire speech he made. Then she talked about bringing jobs to the area of course she should know that once it is built the jobs leave but anyhow she was championing the industry which I wondered how she was going to sell that song to DC or her supporters and the Coal Industry. I had a cherished moment that I had not been able to witness since she went to Congress, I introduced myself and she was happy to see me and asked what my interest was and I said well I am interested in Sustainable energy and solar and I said in the act of full disclosure I was also the Man in Harnett County for Clay Aiken and I thought she was going to -&*%$!!!! I had to get this in before her speech see I think that whomever local set this up for Strata felt they needed the Republican whos who and thought they would do this without others seeing or hearing about it. Rep Leo Daughtry was there along with Sen Ron Rabin, and others including one County Commissioner Gordon Springle but no Rep David Lewis and no Commissioner Jim Burgin. Susan Byerly David Lewis opponent was there and other candidates for office including Steve Blackburn and Abe Elmore. I am proud of Harnett County having several of this in place. This one is huge compared to some others.
