I attended today’s throne speech with Mayor Carr, Councillors Fiona Beland-Quest #shpk & Paul Smith #strathco to listen to Lt.-Gov. Don Ethell read the speech from the throne earlier today. The government plans to renew a multibillion-dollar long-term municipal sustainability initiative which delivers funding to municipalities to spend on roads, community buildings and sports facilities. Green Trip, a funding program that grants money for public transit projects will be renewed. The current budget allocation for GreenTrip is $200 million.
