I avoid politics like the plague however with the condition of the secondary roads today, I would like to send out a heartfelt thank you to all that lead/support the charge for budget cuts after budget cuts. I hope that the political grandstanding is worth risking the safety of all that have no choice to be out. Some of us just dont have the option to stay home. I dont blame Public Works one bit as I am sure there are painful decisions that need to be made when budgets are cut to bare bones. About a 1/2 hour ago they were fishing a car out of the stream at the corner of Rockwell and Plumtrees. I have no doubt that was a direct result of the hazardous road conditions. I can only hope that during this upcoming budget season more people will get out to vote and give the town the ability to provide the services that it needs to keep us all safe. The naysayers already voted down the police station so I wouldnt expect them to have any need to provide Public Works the freedom to keep the roads clear.
