I await your reply, Tesco. Dear Tesco, Today while taking my lunch in work I decided to grab some food from your store in Newtownabbey, Northern Ireland. After wondering around the shop and picking out some food and drinks I then approached what I deemed a normal service desk, which at the time was completely empty, so therefore was handier for myself instead of queuing up at the other tills. When I moved towards the counter I said hello to the employee named ‘Lynn’ which looked like she had a service desk badge on showing management, after this I was greeted immediately by a impolite question in which I quote “Are you buying cigarettes or lottery tickets”. When I answered yes to buying a lottery ticket I was then told the next time I want to purchase food I have to go to the other tills and not this one, in an extremely rude, non-friendly manor. Not recognising I may have made a mistake by bringing the food to this counter I apologised to ‘Lynn’ as one would do. From this however, ‘Lynn’ then decided to continue her impoliteness by scanning the entire shopping basket in with the most ignorant and inappropriate body language ever. Of course this then led to ‘Lynn’ who had already proven herself worthy of being rude, throwing the plastic bag and my lottery ticket on top of the food and drinks, again, with the most sour bake look a person could have giving me as the costumer, the worst experience of buying from Tesco ever. After being asked for the £9.03 cash total I handed ‘Lynn’ my £20 note to pay for the goods. This then led to my money being handed over rudely again, and then, to top it all off, my food and juice pushed to one side in which my coke bottle had toppled over and fizzed up. After I looked towards ‘Lynn’ to see why she had basically just slammed my stuff to one side in what was possibly my worst customer experience ever and gradually getting worse as time went on I was greeted by the words “NEXT”. No apology for her actions what so ever or even a thank you for shopping with Tesco. Coming from a Retail environment myself I know the importance behind a costumer’s journey and how the simple things like manners make a massive difference. However today for me this was the complete opposite. I have to say ‘Lynn’ who might have been having a bad day herself, had been the foulest employee I have ever witnessed and I would never like to approach her again. I have indeed told my friends and family about ‘Lynn’ and they have all agreed that I should make you aware. From your extremely dissatisfied customer, Connor Corry
