I awoke this morning with Isaiah 50:4 going through my thoughts - TopicsExpress

I awoke this morning with Isaiah 50:4 going through my thoughts again, especially the part about God “giving” the “tongue” of the “learned”: “The Lord God hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.” This reminded me again of something Apostle Eric often teaches on, how the pearl is formed by the tongue of the clam moving a grain of sand caught in its shell, around and around, coating it with layer upon layer of this substance that transforms a once lowly grain of sand into a priceless pearl. This takes us to examine again that God “gives” the tongue of the learned by providing the environment of suffering for our learning of Him. As thoughts are met with grace, mingled with faith (reflection, rehearsing, and reciprocating), the conscience is cleansed and the wisdom of God has transformed this once intrusive, irritating seed thought into the virtues of Christ. The testimony we speak of is that which is gained under this tutorage of the Spirit. Tutorage meaning: “the office, authority, or care of a tutor; guardianship; a teacher who gives individual instruction to a student; private teacher; to act as a tutor to; teach; to train under discipline; admonish.” When considering the tongue, I saw this wonderful contrast coming out again, how the tongue at one time reflected, rehearsed, and reciprocated the perceived pain, the sorrow, and the loss experienced when self q. presented to the mind an opportunity to learn more of self (a deceptive lure). And how different learning is under the tutorage of the Spirit as He guides our understanding into the wisdom of God. Our tongue speaks of that which we rehearse in the faithful bearing of His yoke. #s8w #apostlestoday
