I awoke this morning with the words, “Your strength is in your charity” (w/k). These words had followed a string of fretful thoughts I was seeking to take captive. It was edifying to see such an immediate response from the Lord when the labor of faith is engaged. As I continued praying in the Spirit, I asked a few scale questions to generate reflection: If my strength is in my charity, what does this say about my sufficiency? The word “my” stood out to me in that it spoke of the responsibility God placed upon me. Faith being active with the tools of the covenant reflects Christ, and thus pleases God. The Spirit then brought to mind that as much as we are a sojourning people, passing through this dimension to reach our true home in the bosom of the Father, we are also a transitional people: from suffering to glory, from revelation to resistance to reward, from truth to charity, from the nature of man to the divine nature of God. Faith is our consent to travel this prophetic path, guided by the Holy Spirit, under the umbrella of God’s stewardship, accompanied by the tutorage of angels, in the bonds of peace established as a tether to God’s throne, in the company of the saints, washed and renewed by the charity that finds utterance from the mouths of His priests as the bread of Christ nourishes the heart. As I experienced the Lord renew my strength, it was edifying to see how that by partaking of Christ in truth, His sufficiency was linked to this journey of transition. God has equipped us for this journey because He is preparing sons and daughters to sit on His throne, proving them now in these waters of affliction. The scripture from John 8:14 was edifying where Jesus says that He is the true record for our faith, which means he is the true pattern for our journey. “ Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.” (John 8:14)
