I barely had time to process the death of Bobby Keys only to find - TopicsExpress

I barely had time to process the death of Bobby Keys only to find out about the passing of Ian McLagan. Both were friends and long time collaborators with the Rolling Stones; both lived in Texas for many years; both worked with some of the greatest musicians of our time; and both played at FitzGeralds in Berwyn where I had the pleasure of meeting them a few times. We drank, they talked and I listened to some great rock and roll stories. Im a big guy whos been known to enjoy a Guinness or two; Ian was a littler guy who also enjoyed his Guinness, but I couldnt keep pace with him. Ian McLagan was at FitzGeralds about five weeks ago and I regretfully missed the show. I saw a lot of videos of Bobby Keys with the Rolling Stones posted the past couple of days, but not as many of Ian, so I thought Id share this great performance of a 26 year old Ian McLagan with Faces from 1971. R. I. P. Bobby and Ian. . .
