I been around the world. And Only in North America do promoters pimp artists and peoples passions by making them pay to perform. Paying for connections is one thing, but just to perform on a show with 100000 other openers?? And then, the performers get zero money from the bar and zero money from ticket sales, however without the artists selling tickets/Paying, the promoter wouldnt be able to bring down the headlining artist for the related event. The artists are basically paying for the entire fee for the headliner, for the promotion and flyers and even extra pocket cash for the promoter before the show even starts. Hip Hop isnt dead. the Underground is alive, just under constant suicide watch. The promoters and the heads, basically the Underground is killing the underground from lack of community infrastructure and genuine support. We are not a community when we dont build with each other and rcognize one anothers value in relation to our own skill sets. Vent done.
