I been pissed since yesterday...i took the day off (thankful for paid time off) to have three test...A ultrasound of my abdomen...thyroid and mammogram...Our insurance charges 353 a month....I get to the hospital for the test..mind you I had to be there at 7:30 a.m....normally i am just waking up...I get there ...the lady said..you have co pay of $1500.00....i felt all sensory hairs on my body stand up...I told her no one told me this...she went through her procedure...do you have a down payment...blah.blah..I didnt have the dough..I felt like a bum...i was like not til the 15th...payday..she said DMC will immediately send your bill to collections within a week if it is not paid...WHO HAS THAT KINDA MONEY ON THEM TO PAY FOR A TEST. Shame on DMC for turning a bill over to collections after a week. I was like ok I will make arrangements..cause I need this. I thought about it..cause the ladies asked me is there someone you can call for the money? WTH!...I took a deep breath...NO...no charge card..bank card...NO!...I felt horrible. I told the ladies...I get new insurance in October. I will use the script to reschedule...(the reason was because I got the insurance through the marketplace...adn the deductible was not met, it was like I had no insurance...that sucks...cause I dont get sick or have to go to the doctor like that)...anyway....I grabbed my face, pride and honor off the table and went home. The insurance company hoed us...got our money and not provided a service that I could not afford. Make sure you look at your insurance policies closely...or you will find yourself in the hotseat...if I get sick enough I will go to emergency..right not it will only cost me $200...wonder will they turn me away if i dont have the cash at the time ...cause we never know when we will get sick!
