I begin watching this to tide me over til the next Mr. Selfridge. And the department store scenario naturally drew comparisons. But unfairly I think. The Paradise is set in the Victorian era, so everyones still pretty uptight. Fun! The scope of the characters is smaller so we zoom in on them closer. and there is more of an upstairs/downstairs dynamic. While not nearly as fun as Selfridge, its still worth watching. (Especially if you enjoy frrrrrippery!)
