I believe US Regional Cricket needs new direction to provide additional competitive opportunities to top 60 plus cricketers from each region instead of single squad selection currently in place which leaves behind so many frustrated cricketers who have desire to prove and showcase their talent and they end up blaming selectors who may or may not be at fault. I am putting down my ideas which may help to revolutionize Regional Cricket, I request all of you to give your opinion and let us see if we can influence the governing body to step up and bring some life to our domestic cricket here. No negative criticism please. 1) Each Region should sell 4 Teams to private owners through open biddings. 2) 10% of the income generated by the biddings or annual fees collected from the teams should be used for administrative purposes. 3) 90% of the remaining income to be awarded to the Regional Champion 4) Each team should play 2 sets of best of 3 series as home and away games on Saturdays and Sundays. A single series should conclude in two days. 5) Top seeded team based on points becomes Regional Champion, no playoffs, this will make every single game highly competitive. 6) Put 8 Regional Champions in two groups based on draws. Each team plays 3 games, top 2 from each group qualifies for the Semi Finals. 7) The Coach of the National Championship Team should be honored to select the US National Team without any objections or interference. He should be incharge of the team for remainder of the year to prepare, train and to compete for international competitions.
