I believe every sign has met fruition exactly as was foretold - TopicsExpress

I believe every sign has met fruition exactly as was foretold precisely when the designated time was reached as evidenced in the historically verifiable records detailing the demise of Jerusalem and its contents which, in my opinion, leaves no specific comings prophesied in scripture beyond Christ’s circa A.D. 70 coming. This truth does not change just a few things... this truth changes everything. The degree of freedom within this mind-set when incorporated into ones paradigm and actuated is astounding. This reinforces to me once again that indeed as always truth still sets free. preteristarchive/.../1900_urmy_christ-came... It could NOT be clearer! CLEARLY ... WITHOUT A DOUBT.... THIS ONE VERSE SETTLES THE ISSUE! Jesus was speaking to HIS Disciples... THIS GENERATION meant ( HIS GENERATION) the one to whom He was speaking!! Had He meant it to be ANOTHER Generation in the distant future... He would have said THAT GENERATION.... But he said THIS! THIS means NEAR/NOW. THAT would mean FAR/THEN. When I saw this ONE VERSE... I was CONVINCED Matthew 24 WAS Fulfilled in the FIRST CENTURY in 70 AD when The Temple was Destroyed! It is undisputed that the apostles wrote in their writings that they expected the coming of Christ to occur within their lifetime, at least within their generation even if they themselves would die earlier. Several passages in the apostolic writings in the NT scriptures indicate this clearly. Those who believe in and teach a yet future second coming of Christ are not only indicating that Jesus was a false prophet, they also are proposing that the apostles were wrong with their teaching and with what they wrote in their epistles. Such an idea of a yet future coming of Christ actually questions the inspiration of the Scriptures, for IF the scriptures were given to the apostles by inspiration of God, there could be no such mistake like claiming that the coming of Christ was imminent and then it did not happen. The apostles did not just write down their best guess or groundless hopes, but what they had received of the Lord and what God inspired them to write. If the words of Jesus and his apostles as recorded in the Scriptures were not true, then the inspiration of the Bible as the Word of God is in question. In this as in any other matter we have a choice: We can search the Scriptures and follow that which has been revealed in the Scriptures, or we can follow the traditions and doctrines of men. If we consider carefully the teaching of our lord Jesus Christ and his apostles, there can be no doubt that they connected the coming of Christ at the end of the world [age] with the desolation of Jerusalem and the destruction of the temple, and they expected and believed and taught that this coming of Christ would happen within this generation, within the time-frame of their generation, the lifetime of their contemporaries. Still concerned about being left behind? A cognizance of fulfilled revelation in reality is an awareness that among other things delivers from any fear of the future . One may trust truth to the degree it sets free when put to the test. If it is truth it will prove itself in the application thereto. Why wait??
