I believe in the power of intercession and am especially devoted to St. Therese of Lisieux, who said, When I die, I will send down a shower of roses from the heavens, I will spend my heaven by doing good on earth. Its a rather mysterious statement, and was probably not meant literally by St. Therese (who is often called the Little Flower.) But oftentimes people have reported praying to Therese and asking for her prayers, and having a rose appear, in some way, in their lives. A few months ago, after speaking to a friend about a difficult situation in my life, I mentioned Therese as someone whose example Id like to follow. A few minutes later, I went down onto a subway platform and there was a woman waiting for my train, and beside her were two immense buckets of red and pink roses.
