I believe its very important to educate ourselves, even when its painful to do so. We must KNOW the truth about things in this world in order to help to make change for the better. We owe it. We ARE obligated! I will NEVER forget the first time I learned what the term Pound seizure meant. I was horrified and sickened, and I feel very strongly that I sent a sweet little black dog on his way to a lab. I wont say where and I wont say when, but to this day I feel that by trying to help this little black lab mix by calling ACO and sending him to the pound where his owner could claim him, that I actually hurt him. He would have been better off if I had not stopped for him in the rain when he was on the side of the road. I sealed his fate, i just know I did, and I am angry and feel so very very betrayed. Once I learned about Pound Seizure, I was just horrified, b/c a shelter/pound is what most of us used to think of as THE place to call when we find an animal, after all that is what we are SUPPOSED to do, b/c the nice man in the uniform will make sure that he is safe until the owners come for him. *Sigh*......, oh the things I used to believe. I bet you believed them too. I bet many of you have no idea to this day about pound seizure. Little black dog, please forgive me. I had no idea. I am so sorry. I can only hope that by now you are at the Rainbow Bridge, looking down, and knowing things are now better. I know better now, and that will never happen on my watch.
