I believe that character is doing the right thing when it’s easier to do the wrong thing.In my 19 years, I realize most people lack it. And the majority of those who lack it have no desire to attain it. Out of all the types of people in the world, I have the least respect for liars and cowards, especially cowards. Liars insult my intelligence and I don’t appreciate it. But cowards deny one of the UN-escapable truths of human existence: pain. You will experience it and you MUST face it. Everybody lies and everybody is afraid of something but the people who turn it into a lifestyle or a sort of joie de vivre really piss me off. If you fall into this category and have no desire to grow, it’s best we keep our distance. We wouldn’t get along. I may sound really angry or bitter but the truth is, every person has within them a great amount of potential. The people who I chose to become a part of my life, in them I see the highest potential. Because love is not temporal, I love them for who they are AND for who they will be. I want someone to love me for the same reasons. I cannot help but feel a great sorrow and sense of loss when I realize someone I love would rather become stagnant then work to come into the fullness of who God created them to be. God calls us his poems (Ephesians 2:10)… and like any good poet knows, you can destroy an otherwise flawless work with one lazy line. Signed, a woman
