I believe that journalism can transcend both the diffusion of information and news through dialogue and become a means of communication - not simple diffusion. To do this, it must become something more than the gossip column it originated as, and develop new roots in the mutual respect of a community of equals. Non-profit citizen journalism is the future; the present state of discredit and poverty that so many major news organizations face is testimony to the end of an era...
