I believe that reminding people to take care of themselves this holiday season (Black Friday) is a very important message. My business would normally be closed on Thanksgiving and Black Friday. This year I am doing something special as my way of saying thank you. The office will be open Friday, November 28th, with office hours with specific clients in mind. We will be seeing hunters before they head to the woods on Monday, children who are on school vacation including college students home on break, and anyone who has lifted too much turkey in and out of the oven, or carried too many grocery bags, or over exerted cleaning and preparing for company from out of town. Oh yes and lets not forget those who participated in the 5K Turkey Trot Thanksgiving morning in Sayre, PA. It will be a fun casual day with patients encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the local food pantry. In addition to the food contributions, 50% of the days proceeds will be donated as well. I read a recent article on fighting holiday stress. It states, lowering holiday stress often involves just re-thinking old traditions and making new ones. It doesnt have to be just about the food. New traditions can include family walks, games, and serving in the community. Think about lower-stress ways to bond with your family and friends and do something you can feel great about. And if the stress gets to be too much, think about getting a massage or a chiropractic adjustment to make sure youre taking care of yourself so you can enjoy the holidays too.
