I believe that social networking such as Facebook , Twitter and the others can be great tools in conveying any message. For me it was a non brainer that I would use facebook not to socialise as such but to share the little glimpses of knowledge that I have with others and use it as encouragement and motivation for myself and others. I would also use facebook and other media to “improve my Islamic knowledge” and keep myself up dated with other worthwhile sources within the social media. Thus the Page “Islamic Reflections” was created in 2010. At the time I felt that it was a bit ambitious as I had a personal fb profile with over 2000 “friends” , constant updates and friend requests but a Page, “Islamic Reflections” with just 1 “Like”, me. I did not let this discourage me, as I knew that with my personal profile I would only ever reach just a few as my privacy settings were such that only “friends” would see my posts. The idea of a Page which would reach many was brilliant but it seemed such an impossible task. Especially the time that had the 1 “Like”!!! I had clear intentions that The page was purely for the sake of Allah, would be welcoming to all and rain or shine I would give my 100% and try to post regularly. I believe that with graphic messages, short , sharp messages would be delivered an hopefully stored in memories. So however time consuming, I found that I always made the time to created more picture messages. I had days that the motivation was not there, but I persevered. And slowly slowly, Islamic Reflections had more than 1 Like... I found that the more I posted, the more members joined, but the numbers were still low. One morning I found that from 7,000 members the number had gone suddenly up to £12,000. Alhamdulillah! I felt that this was a clear message not to give up but to proceed full steam ahead now with extra help from wonderful admins supporting and leading the page forward. Trying to use genuine Islamic Material but also general wisdom and small write ups, renewing the Page every day and .... And this is the main point again and again: The page is here for the sake of Allah, and with the Help of Allah, and Allah Willing, will be here for the time to come. One more thing: However difficult and impossible a task is, do not give up as you will see that Allah can help you in everything if your intentions are pure. And one more thing:) Without the help of Allah and you visiting, liking and sharing maybe we would still be on 1 "Like". Thank you for your support an encouragement. Jazakum Allah kheyran Xenia Y
